Butts then ribs.....

Started an overnight of 3 Butts at 8PM and the internal temp is only at 160. Thinking of Wrapping in foil and finishing in the oven so that I can get my ribs on in time for a 5 PM meal. Has anyone ver tried that? Any thoughts?

Wouldn't hurt. The butts have absorbed all the smoke they're going to anyway. Another plus is all the juice you'll get by foiling them. I do at that temp anyway.

Mark,
You may not need to wrap them yet. My butt this morning hung out at 161-163 for about 8 hours before finally going up again. I wrapped it in foil at 180 (sneaking a piece for myself...it was excellent).

But, when I put mine in the oven previously, I always use the same temperature as the smoker would use, about 250 degrees. Be sure to put an oven thermometer in there too. My newer oven goes to 285 when I have it set to 250, but gets better by 300.

Good luck to you.
