Butchers pork injection for home use

I'm thinking of trying some Butchers pork injection. I don't compete so this will be for a home cook. I'm wondering if I'll be disappointed with the results. Nothing against the product but I know it's probably geared more for comp cooks. Would you guys recommend I try it or pass?

My concern is that it might be too over the top for home use, but I can't say I've tried it. That kind of thing is often designed with competition one bite in mind. That said, pulled pork can be kind of bland so you may be ok. My butcher has a buddy who is a top competitor in the area. They served some of his brisket one day and it definitely wasn't for me. I ate a few pieces and felt pretty gross. For one bite it was great, and he's won a lot of comps with it.

Thanks for the reply. If I use it I may go with a small amount. I guess the reason I want to try it is from reading so much about it. Curiosity is an expensive thing lol.

I would add if your happy with your PP then why change it. If not happy then try it. ( I never used that brand)
I don't inject, tried it a few times and it wasn't worth it IMO.

I've never injected butts, never saw the need.

I have used Butchers on my briskets, though, and they've come out good.

If you're curious, give it a try. I don't think it could hurt.

It’s 8 bucks, where’s the expensive part? I have spent more on ingredients for a good rub. If you want to try something, the best advice is “Try it!” It won’t be that big an expense, get the small one, inject a butt, test. If you like it, get the big quantity and then you have stock for future cooks.
I have an injector but, I’m not impressed with what I’ve done, just one more thing to fool around with. I like a certain amount of fiddling but, I keep finding less is more. Simple rub, loads of cherry, and even more patience.
