Thanks Larry! That is really top notch. Where did you find those brackets? I can see plenty of uses for stuff like that

I’m more impressed with the homemade brackets! Bending flat stock so precisely isn’t a small task.Yeah you just pull up the table and the spring locks them in place. They seem quite sturdy. Then just pinch the lever and drop it down. They seem to work quite well. I'm going to repaint mine as well as the brackets I made when I do the rest of the grill for further rust and corrosion prevention.
Thanks Cody I used my big old american-made bench vices. Just measuring what distances I needed marking them and securing them in the vise and bending them over with a hammer. The hardest part is making multiple pieces identical but I just take my time.I’m more impressed with the homemade brackets! Bending flat stock so precisely isn’t a small task.
The angles are what I’m most impressed by!Thanks Cody I used my big old american-made bench vices. Just measuring what distances I needed marking them and securing them in the vise and bending them over with a hammer. The hardest part is making multiple pieces identical but I just take my time.
To be honest to Cody I've been putting it off for a while. I've been thinking about how and what I want to do and was a bit nervous that I was going to screw up and waste my flat stock. I also originally thought I was going to have to weld them to make them strong enough but ended up bending them in such a way and configuration that they are actually quite strong without welding. The flat stock wasn't expensive I just don't like to waste. I'm just glad it ended up turning out the way I envisioned it.The angles are what I’m most impressed by!
Thank you Joe I appreciate it!First class job as always. Your brackets are an improvement over the stock ones. Great work.
Interesting Bruce! I've seen some other BM grills with the small wood handle on one side like these but the wood was so deteriorated I couldn't tell what it originally looked like but it didn't appear to be the same shape as these.Josh, the lid handles on that grill are the exact same as the one that was on the BM that I redid. I have not seen very many that used that style of handle. Maybe they were only used for one or two years.
Be careful Larry! My friend's in MN has the single wood handle. Last time we were there and I was cooking on it, can't tell you how many times I came close to burning myself badly because I kept grabbing the lid not realizing no handle
Reminds me of a wheelbarrow handle just a little fancier. Still they look kind of cool to me in a vintage way.Yah, Most I have seen were different. If you have a lathe, I would definitely try to make a set out of the Brazillian Walnut to match the shelves. To me, it looks like they were an afterthought.

Those handles look great!@Bruce
I got this free sample of Deck Wise in the mail and it worked pretty good to match my old handles with my new IPE wood flip table. It also helped them match to distress them both a little bit.
