Blurry vision

Just got back from diabetic eye exam with extra deep dilation. Been home 45 minutes still can't see. Good thing I did not drive LOL

My eye doctor loves to do that eye dilation. The messed up thing is it never fully kicks in until well after they are done and then they give you these cheap sunglasses that are a rolled up plastic film. It makes my job almost impossible when I get back to work.

When I was being initially diagnosed as a diabetic 20+ years ago, I had a fluorescein retinograph performed. Strong dilation with a significant numbing agent, fluorescein dye injected into an I/V in the back of my hand, and in just a few seconds, a camera with a very strong ring flash was taking pictures of my eye (think of the chair in _A Clockwork Orange.) The flash was so strong, I felt pressure, not just heat. Intellectually speaking, a neat procedure, but yes, a little nerve-wracking.

Larry, I hope your eyes are in good shape.

Ironic this topic came up... today I went to the eye doc about focused (spot) blurry vision with occasional crescent shaped loss of peripheral vision on one side.
Need to go back for more test tomorrow but he indicated strong indications of a condition called "ocular migraines." Never heard of such a thing, but he indicated it is very common.
Am reading up on it now.

Larry:
If it is like the dilations the do on me looking for cataracts and more floaters from a previous bleed, tomorrow your eyes will feel like someone kicked sand in them. For everything to settle back to normal it usually takes me 2 days (the day of the dilation and high intensity light plus the next day). Also, a belated happy birthday.
