Blue around door on WSM 18”

On the used smoker I bought used, it is blue and looks burnt around the top of the door. Will that clean off?

Not sure about "blue". What's usually around the door is a build-up of smoke and grease. Buy some 0000 super-fine steel wool. Do not use anything other than a product labelled "0000 super fine". Spray the area with Simple Green, Formula 409, Purple Power, or similar non-abrasive spray cleaner. Gently scrub in circular motion using the, I repeat, 0000 super-fine steel wool. Wipe off with damp towel. Repeat until clean.

You can use this process on all of the black exterior porcelain enamel surfaces.

You will often get smoke build-up on the lid vent damper. I like to wipe it off with a damp cloth mid-cook. The water turns to steam and steam-cleans the damper. Careful not to burn your hand from the hot towel. You can also wipe around the top of the door opening the same way when the cooker is hot to keep that area clean moving forward. Same for the access door.
