Birthday dinner with a surprise ending...


 
Great looking cook. Great gifts too. I thought I had all the Weber books, but I've never seen the one you got. I have one called "Smoke". Will look for it. Hope you had a Happy BDay.

Congratulations on your birthday!

You obviously have a very nice family (and SMART too, as they'll benefit from your smokin' in the very near future, I am sure).

I recently took delivery of my 14.5" WSM and only have one cook on it. Here it is:

These are great cookers. I already had a Mini-Joe Gold and found that the capacity is the same (which is to say, that you can easily do two 8-9 lb. Boston Butts, or four half racks of ribs on each level, or several Cornish Game hens, or --- you get the idea. After you get two or three cooks on it, the good gunk will build up and you'll get longer burn time as all of the openings seal.

Happy Birthday, and thanks for sharing the surprise with us. I gasped and almost cried when I saw that white box with the Weber 14.5 stamp on it! You must be stoked! (I know I would be).
