Got a DM today from a newer user with no posts suggesting I reach out to someone for the part I was looking for.

Things started getting weird when the Paypal request came from yet a third name with a mismatched email (who he said was his 'wife' named John) .

Bad actors and sketchy stuff out there.

My Direct Messages are currently somewhat disabled suddenly for some reason.

I can’t create new ones and within current ones I can’t react with “Likes” or post images, etc.

Can you please look into this to restore them for me? Thank you!

If you purchased the item and paid via paypal, you should be able to file a claim, and paypal will eventually refund your money. It has to be clear within the paypal transaction that you are making a purchase for an item that is to be shipped. If you just send the money to somebody in the blind, it's likely gone. Good luck
