Best cleaning product for grease

Simple Green and 0000 steel wool can do quite a bit for the porcelain hood and control panel, but for the inside of the firebox and end caps you will need a bigger gun. My suggestion is Sam’s Club Members Mark Grill and Oven cleaner. Just be very careful with it as it will burn your skin mercilessly let alone your eyes. Use precaution!

Has anyone ever tried Carbon Off? They claim it removes caked on carbon.

Yes, there was some discussion on that and several other degreasers this past spring/summer I believe. I remember Carbon OFF getting some varying reviews. I search for Carbon off will probably locate those discussions.
