Made my first beer can chicken this weekend. Used a hard cider to keep it gluten free for some folks in my family with sensitivity. Turned out great! Still dialing in the temp on my WSM. I added a chimney of coals with a piece of apple wood, and temp stayed around 300, so I added about half a chimney then it stayed at 350. I used the Trader Joe's 21 Seasoning Salute with some salt (so it was a 22 seasoning salute?). Once it was done I crisped up the chicken directly on the coals. Served with garlic and dill red potatoes (in the foil packs) and a few other sides:

Thanks all!

I tore the chicken skin trying to get it off the can with some tongs for the final sear...I ended up just using some gloves and handling it directly...

That looks excellent well done, do you think the cider infused into the meat the strong acidic taste may be stronger than beer may have to try this.

Nice looking BCC!! Looks like some corn cooking along with it?..oh nope sorry just re-read ...taters! Gotta show them plated pics so we know what to serve up!!
