Hello Folks..

Second cook on the WSM using the Stoker and we decide to cook a Beer Can chicken on it. Injected the chicken with a marinade and put it on the smoker at 12:30pm.I used a Beer Can Chicken holder/stand and pour some home made peach wine in the dripping tray.I took it off at 6:30pm. Food probe reading was 181F stuck in the breast. Juices began to run as soon as I stuck the probe in the other side of the breast.Took it off to rest for 15mins and cut it open to find a nice and juicy bird.
Pit temp was 226 and steady throughout the cook.Used a clay saucer in my water pan.

It was very good stuff!!

Never thought of a beer can chicken on a WSM how big was the bird ?? </div></BLOCKQUOTE>

I have cooked beer can chicken on the WSM twice. The first time I cooked 4 birds at once, all on the same rack. I only did 3 the second time. All were typical fryer size, whatever weight that is. I had posted photos of the first cook somewhere, but I can't find them now. Both times the chickens turned out great. We ate some, froze the rest in quarters.

Hey guys...

My chicken was about 3lbs. It was a frying chicken which I decided to try out. I injected with Marinade and left 4hrs before I put on WSM.
The skin on the bird looked like rubber, and we didn't eat it. The meat mind you, was nice and juicy and had a nice flavour due to the injection.
