It's been about a year and a half since I've been on here. Been busy with life and other hobbies. I still do BBQ for our family reunion once a year, but just not that much besides that. Well, things have changed a bit in the past couple of weeks. I found a huge Chevy step van and I'm going to convert it into a BBQ competition RV rig. I haven't gotten it to the house yet, but when I do I'll be sure to show y'all pics and start a thread about the build out of it. I have wanted to do competitions for a while now, but just didn't want to "rough" with a couple of easy ups and my WSMs because I have two younger kids and a wife and they didn't want to deal with "camping" so to speak. So now that I have the step van, we're gonna do it. I'm pretty excited. We're gonna build it out and go spectate at a lot of competitions this year to get a feel of what to expect. Then, next year I'm going to start competing with the step van.
So, today I'm gonna start practicing my ribs, chicken, and brisket. We went and bought about $300 worth of meat yesterday to practice with lol. I'll be sure to make another post about the cooks. It's good to be back!
