Beef Shoulder Clod

A week ago I went to Kreuz Market in Lockhart, TX and had some of the best beef shoulder I've ever had. Is there any way of duplicating this on my WSM?

From what I've seen the clod is a huge piece of meat. Is there any other comparable cut?

Not really. The clod is made up of several muscles. You should be able to find one of the smaller (12-15lb) size. (Try for a 'shoulder clod', not a 'shoulder clod, arm roast'.) Though you can get a larger one and halve it if necessary, I think a smaller one left whole yields better results.

(Unless you're a fan of essentially unseasoned meat, you can do better than Kreuz by using a flavorful rub.)
