Just thougth I would drop a note as I am in process of a BBQ Marathon. Started yesterday (Sat.) morning at 11:00 a.m. with 2 racks of loin backs. Pulled them off at 4:00 p.m., foiled and at 5:00 p.m. the family went at them like we were caveman. There was sauce and bones a flyin! Dumped the remainder of the coals in my Smokey Joe and refilled the charcoal ring full in preperation of my first pork butt cook. Started the chimney at about 7:30 p.m (Sat) and had 2 butts on at 8:00 p.m. Checked the temp at 9:00 p.m. 220 degrees, looked good to me so I went to bed. Set my alarm for 3:00 a.m. I was kind of worried about the temp as the was my first all nighter with the ECB. 220 degrees at 3:00 a.m. and plenty of fuel so back to bed. Back up at 6:00 a.m. and the ECB is still chugging along at 220! Looks like I am going to have to add more charcoal here pretty soon, probably at the 12 hour mark, 8:00 a.m. (Sun) Got pics of the ribs and will take some of the butts when I turn them at 8:00 a.m. Man, this sweatshirt I am wearing sure is smelling good after 2 days of smoking.
