Asian Plum

Anyone ever used asian plum wood for smoke. They are generally ornamental but I would guess the wood is similar to regular plum. The tree I am talking about is the kind that have red bark and red leaves and they get little tiny plums about the size of a cherry. A neighbor is taking one out. Thanks.
