Another question on high heat paint.

For the firebox and lid sides I would say that is probably stock. For the table sides a gloss clear coat would fix that. I think you found a winner.

This grill has given me some grief. So after the disaster with the 500F paint I stripped the paint again, sanded it and repainted it with black grill paint. Yes the grey looks much better but there is non with a high enough temp rating. Anyhow the grill is finally done. Let’s see if I can sell it.

I like the black, and the added touch of spraying the shelf mounts.
I will be adding that to the next one I need to spray.
Old school igniter is a smart add for anyone that has dealt with
the frustration of the electric igniters repeated failures.

I don't mind the black at all. The only reservation I have of changing the color of the paint so drastically is that if (when) the spray paint starts to wear off, chip, scratch or whatever, it will be very noticeable. If you use a color that is close to the original underneath, a little wear and tear doesn't show up for a long time. These high heat paints that we are using are not nearly as durable as the original powder coat or whatever it is that Weber used and will begin to wear much sooner, no matter how well cared for the grill is.
