Tony has been a great “email” pal for some time now and he has shared some truly stupendous looking good available from his butcher among which has been “Kilties” smallish sausages wrapped with bacon and grilled or smoked.
So after chatting back and forth for some time about finding a source, I stopped in at my local “Mom and Pop” butcher and asked “I don’t need them right away but, could you make me up some?” He replied, “I’m making sausages up first thing in the morning, how many do you want?”
So, I picked up 5 pounds yesterday afternoon and did the bacon wrap and will do a test run for time and temp right now!
Wrapped,

The links are just a touch longer than the bacon (as you can see.
I’m thinking around twenty to twenty five minutes. We shall see how these play out!
Thanks buddy!

Interesting. Growing up in the US, "pigs in a blanket" are small hot dogs or other sausages individually wrapped in pastry (biscuits or croissants). I didn't realize that in the UK, "pigs in a blankets" are small sausages wrapped in bacon - I've learned something today, and that makes it a good day!
You are correct Keith. Technically PiBs are sausages wrapped in a form of pastry.
Kilties, (kilted soldiers/sausages), are small sausages wrapped in bacon. However, over time both kinds are now encompassed & referred to as Pigs In Blankets in the UK.

Edit:
So, the $64K question is: pastry or bacon? (Bacon all day long for me).

What if it was sausages wrapped in bacon, cooked, then wrapped in croissant dough and baked - seems like that might be even better.

Sort of reminds me of "angel dogs" my mother used to serve. A hot dog in a bun with cheese (often Cheese Whiz) and a strip or two of bacon laid in next to the hot dog - maybe that was just a 1960's thing. Dare I admit that as kids we would put mustard and ketchup 😲 on it.

Both, when can I expect the $128? (64X2)
Keep an eye on the temperature in “The Hot Place”, that’s what I’ve been doing for years, so far it hasn’t gotten to a “frozen over” state yet!
Merry Christmas!
Planning on taking some to a festive family snack fest tomorrow, the timing will be interesting, need them mid-late afternoon and a short cross town trip. I was hoping they might come here for once but, the temperature has not been dropping (see above)
😁
