Alternate 18 1/2" Water Pan

I have the 2 gal. water pan for my newer 18.5" and was wondering if the old (2000-2008) 1 gal. water pan would fit. I'm looking for a shallower pan that will allow easier charcoal adjustments. Anybody have any suggestions? Thanks.

You don't want the old Weber pan. You want the Brinkman charcoal pan for their cheap water smoker.

The Brinkman pan is/was popular becasue it could hold more water than the OEM pan... 2000-08... I have both but use the OEM pan because I use no water just a foiled pan.

If you have a donor Smokey Joe.. the lid to it is the same piece as the OEM water pan.

I don't use water. I use the Brinkmann charcoal pan in my 18 1/2" WSM because it give much better access to the charcoal ring.
