A bit disappointed with the Royal Oak Briquettes Ace substituted for the Ace brand. I understand their probably the same just under two different labels.
Did a tri-tip and chicken thighs tonight. They did fairly well through the tri-tip cook, when I removed the tri-tip I threw some chicken thighs on and noticed lots of ash. I actually had to shake my char baskets to shake off the ash (I've never had to do this before this early in the cook). So about 40 minutes into the chicken thighs when normally done I have to shake the char baskets again, and this time notice that I'm running out of fuel and I'm thinking I may have to fire-up the gasser to finish these babies. Using Kingsford I can easily do this cook without having any issues and using Rancher I can do both the tri-tip then chicken and another 45 minute cook of something else. Anybody else having these issues? I'm wishing I hadn't bought 4 bags.
One other thing, my briquettes appears to have wood in it, here's a PICTURE
