$250 isn't cheap, but this thing looks to be in great shape!

Yah, that looks a bit steep, but if you really want one................
Not for me, glass doors on a bbq seem like a recipe for disaster! :) Other than that, it's a neat lid design on a side burner model with a right swing up table. Not sure I've ever seen one show up locally that was complete and in good shape like that.

There was one in Chicago a few weeks ago for more money. About the same condition.
I think it sold, cause the ad was gone in 2 days.

That looks to be a great deal as it comes with cover, rib rack, chicken rack, seafood tray, brush, serving tray and full tank of propane. I would not really want to restore another as it is a lot of work to do all that wood. However, if it was here I would be very temped. Probably try to get it down to $200.

I have to say that I am tempted but without a truck to bring this one home it would too difficult. It would be a nice restoration to add to the keeper group.

I got the '05 summit in my Jeep Wrangler (2 door) with a little dissassembly, Bill......where there's a will..... :)

Sorry Bill, It was me! I saw it Sunday and have always loved the body style but never seen one with glass doors, even showed my wife and she agreed it was cool. On Tuesday came on here to research restoration tricks just for fun, then saw this thread specifically about the one i was looking at. Had to jump on it. I live in Stockton, but happened to be in Emeryville when i reached out, so had to sneak out early to make the hour drive so I could be home as if nothing happened (wife still doesnt know). The whole car ride there I planned to talk her down to $200, she asked me to wear a mask, I understood, she was waiting for me in the drive way, checked it out, she said original owner, but noticed she had trouble opening things showing me the extras so i figured she didnt know what she had, and right when I was going to try and bargain, out came her mother likely in her 80s, maybe 90s, no mask - and excited to show me all the bells and whistles, then told me shed even throw in some cookbooks. At this point I could tell she loved it, and learned her husband helped clean it, but too tired to come outside to help. I knew they were going to miss it, and its going to be a keeper for me, so at this point I didnt mind paying what they were asking for. Cover is nice, full tank, both ignitors work perfectly, fire box could use a deeper cleaning, a few rustly clips here and there, but otherwise nice. Will def need painting, and staining.

Deherek, I'm glad someone was able to grab this, and that maybe we'll see a pic or two of it polished up a bit more. Cool story about the owner, this one needed to be with someone who will enjoy it just as much!

I saw your post about being in Stockton, but looks like maybe you just moved out of Redwood City (my 'hood)?

Nice - That was worth it with all the extras, and the condition in fantastic. You may want to check my Genesis 5 restore thread. It has some good info, especially if you want to disable the flame check button but still have it there. I don't envy your future wood work but they are beautiful grills.

Yup thats right, born and raised. Wife wanted house so since we couldn't buy anything near my family (RWC), we chose to buy near hers (Stockton).. Not bad, but Im one of them 'super commuters', still work at Stanford Hospital, 2 hr drive each way. Now as you know Palo Alto is next to Mountain View, so typically I would have been right next door, but this week I had to work in Emeryville which is about an hour away and in the wrong direction; so Tuesday when I discovered you guys talking about, I knew I had to leave early and go get it without my wife knowing, LOL. Its still at my parents house.

Now what really prompted me to jump on it was a situation that happened about a year ago when I first discovered FB marketplace. Again I was in Emeryville and saw a woman giving way for FREE a red mastertouch in redwood city, you're not the guy who happen to pick it up are you?

Thanks, most of the slats look pretty clean and square except for one thats kinda bowed pictured above closest to the firebox on the L side table, and the lid handle has a slight bow. You think I could get away and sand/ stain whats already there? or should I replace everything for a better wood? Rich can help me cutdown one of the Redwoods in our backyards, lol.

Dehrek, that, unfortunately, makes sense.....I highly doubt my kids will be able to settle here after college. My wife was born/raised in RWC (Woodside HS '88), and we've been in our house since 1998. Crazy what housing prices have done since we purchased (and, candidly, before that, too.) I'm familiar with a bunch of the Stanford locations as I was the Cisco Account Manager calling on Stanford Hospital as a customer for a bit over three years (especially during the time Stanford was adding a bunch of clinics.)

What red mastertouch???? (FWIW, this isn't the same one.....I snagged this off NextDoor about four years ago.) :)
