They want $20 at Rona (Canada) for same thing.

I usually use a rolled up newspaper (no oil) and light it on a hibachi grate then put the chimney on top. Usually lights up the chimney first time.

I always use newspaper to light mine. No issues, but the trick is to make sure the newspaper is nice and dry.

I'll have to try the oiled paper towel and see if I notice any difference.

So I just got a new Genesis EP-330 -- this one has a side burner. Following the advice of many others, my last smoke on Monday, I put the chimney right over the side burner with the grate removed. This was the fastest, cleanest firing up I've ever had. If you have a side burner, try it.
