26.75" Craycort showed up--NOT GOOD (W/Pics)

Took delivery of my Craycorts for the big kettle yestrday and I am VERY dissapointed. One cracked section, and all 4 do not fit correctly in the ring. The one i can tap into place fits so tightly, that the lifter tool picks up the entire ring, with all 4 sections, upon attempt to remove. I've emailed them the pics and they were very responsive on the phone. My story and the pics have been forwarded to their "Quality Control" dept for review. Hard to beleive they move so many of these that they can't inspect these at some point. Not like these things are cheap either. I am very bummed out, but I do anticipate they will make it right. Stay tuned...

Did you try them the other way? They look upside down to me.

At any rate, Craycort has always been good on their word, as I understand. I have three sets, love all of mine.

I work in a manufacturing plant that makes parts for specific bottle labeling/filler machines...
We ship hundreds of thousands of dollars in parts every day.
I am not surprised at what our customers call and complain about when they receive their orders.
At times, **** happens and it gets past the QC and QA departments.

The only thing to do is call and wait for replacements.
 
4 New inserts on the way. Big thumbs up on their reponsiveness (Craycort). Textbook fantastic customer service. I'm very hopefull that we'll be breaking these in next weekend...

I'm with Laura on this one. You likely did as I and took advantage of their Father's Day 15% off sale. I ordered a set for my 26.75" kettle and they ONLY fit one way. Looks like yours are upside down. The top rim of each insert should be flush all the way around; yours aren't.

CORRECTION:

I was wrong. I took another look at my grates and your originals are installed correctly. So your claim is legit. I didn't have this issue with mine, but I'm certainly glad Craycort is making it right with you. Follow up on the resolution please.

Received 4 new grates, 2 the 4 didn't fit. These, although, had a very obvious casting imperfection along the outside edge that prevented them from sitting into the ring. About 10 minutes back and forth from the ring to the bench grinder, they now fit perfectly. I reseasoned them and used for the 1st time last night, a BIG thumbs up. I imagine these will continue to season and get even better.
