22.5 WSM WEATHERED WARRIOR problems

I have owned over 50 WSM's over the years but I have never
had one that looked like this .......

Reminds of WW kettles, but very spotchy. I have tried
every trick I know to remove that from the lid with
no luck. Anyone have a fix for this that does not involve
razor blades, steel wool, oven and grill cleaners, that do
not work, as we have tried already?

I'm not familiar with that on a WSM. Almost looks like it's been scorched.

If it still cooks okay, leave it... It adds to its character!!!
