2-2-1 for six back racks?

I use the 2-2-1 method for my baby backs when cooking 2-3 racks. I will be cooking 6 this weekend... 3 on top, 3 on bottom. Does 2-2-1 still work or does it need to be longer?

That's not an approach I use but time-wise the difference should be marginal at worst. Depending on the temp spread between grates, if any, one grate's ribs might be done somewhat before the other's but that shouldn't be much of an issue.

Thanks guys!

how about 2 6lb pork butts? both on top? split between top & bottom? will they take significantly longer compared to one 1 6lb?

If you put them in at room temp or close a little more meat in the cooker a take it a little longer to come up to temp IMO . If you use water like I do it a take a little longer forsure using a clay base or just a foiled pan you may not even notice a diffrence at all. Thats my 2 cents if its worth that .
