A buddy of mine, caught some salmon in Alaska on a fishing trip awhile back, and wanted me to some smoke some fillets for him. No problem. Just fire up the WSM, and they way we go. The end result was very tasty fish. It was moist, sweet, and full of flavor. Not sure why the salmon had so much excess liquid in them on the final pictures. I air dried the salmon on the counter for about an hr, as I was getting the WSM set up. We were very happy with the smoked salmon. The Alder smoke smelled awesome. I could not detect or taste any of the garlic in the fish. But it still tasted very good. Here are the photos. What do you think, and, have you smoked Salmon before?

The salmon looks incredible!! That might be on my agenda over the my Holiday week off! I just at my last vac sealed piece I had the other day!!

No question about it, that salmon looks incredible. There's nothing better than fresh salmon. I think I'll give that a try for New Years.

Great job Michael

You know the sound that Homer Simpson makes right after he says, "Mmm, doughnuts..."? Right when he starts drooling? That's what I just did, unconsciously. Then I laughed at myself. Then I got hungry. Thank you for the pics... I'm really going to have to try this whole going to Alaska thing.

Looks awesome! I just love smoked salmon. Made some a couple weekends ago from some silvers a buddy of mine brought from Alaska. Nice work.

That salmon looked great. I have been toying with the idea of trying that for a while. Now I want to try it all the more.

Wow, you don't see filets like that very often, not in FL anyway. I hope it turned out as good as it looks.

Q'n, Golf'n & Grill'n..... too many choices!
