1st smoke SUCCESS!!

First Smoke ever, 3 racks of baby backs, minion method, 3 fist sized chunks of apple wood and just under 4hours. They were excellent. Used Shultz's rub from costco and an "enhanced" KC masterpiece sauce.

This WSM is a dream to cook on. No troubles and the heat was as constant as my oven. Next time, maybe 4 pieces of smoke wood, and SIX racks!! Is it Saturday yet? :wsm:
 
for a first smoke you have the simplicity part nailed down. ribs, wood, wsm......no worries. Now that is how smokin is meant to be!!!!
 
Congrats......likely the ribs will only get even better with each cook. It took me about five or six cooks and then the wife went back for thirds, with a "these are the best I've ever had" statement..............my children call and ask if I will do ribs for them some night, etc. I do turkeys, hams, pork, chicken, nothing taste's quite like ribs however.
