A Good Friend turned me on to this. I've always caught Bass, Catfish, Brim and Bluegill and Released to the Grease. This (New) Salmon fish was different. Red instead of white meat. The Wife picked up a couple of fillets so here goes:

Cedar planks:

Soaked for about 6 hours:

Simple seasonings. Lemon pepper, garlic salt, lemon slices and sprayed the board with canola oil:

Skin side down on heated plank:

Just off the Weber after medium direct heat for about 45 minutes:

Plated with a sides and a sauce my Wife made:

I can't wait to try this again! Lot's of combinations.

Thanks for Lookin' :p

Killer looking meal Mike!

A tip if you have the tools to do it - Just buy au-natural cedar fence boards from Homer Depot and cut them up to desired size. Whole lot cheaper than buying "cedar grilling planks".

I also had salmon for diz tonight ;)

I Welcome any and all input on how to do it next time. :D

Looks great, i have been looking to try that too but was holding off. Now I think I will have to get it on the menu sooner than later.

That looks really good, Mike! Picture perfect. I have some planks at home so I'll have to try this.

I assume you liked the cedar flavour. Great looking salmon. Bet the catfish would be great done that way .
