1989 Red Genesis (3?) Restoration + some questions

I have a Genesis 3 I'm fixing up and I'm not if the side burner attaches or locks in/bolts in somewhere. Anyone have a Genesis 1-5 and they could weigh in?
Also, any idea what this piece is for? Similar looking to the 3 grill hooks.

Think that holds the side burner in place

No, that piece goes on the frame leg (back left). It is where you insert the swing table rod to hold it up. I believe there is a slot that the tab on top fits into on the leg.

Those grates you see are stamped enamel coated steel. OK to hold the food off the fire but not much more

Here is a photo of that clip on a grill. It is the silver thing on the back left leg.


Here is a picture of the rear of the grill showing the clip. The hole in the clip will face towards the front of the grill.
