14.5 mods and "HOT" run

Lil guy got most of his mods on. Custom wood handle from Marty Leach, nomex door gasket, Cajun bandit door. BBQ guru digiQ will be here Thursday and the mini stand is almost outta powder coat, so it's getting its "hot" break in tonight. I put in about 3/4 of a chimney of lit Kingsford and a apple chunck, all vents open had it up to 350degs in no time and held there for quite awhile. the inside lost most of its shine, I'm pry going to run some chunks of spare rib trimmings to season it before I eat anything off it and get it ready for a pork shoulder this weekend.... pics to follow

The wood handle looks great! My 14.5 has no mods after 2 years, but now that I am used to how it cooks, like it as it came. Wonder if I could make a nice wood handle?

Love that handle. Mine is pretty much stock, probably going to get the CB door one day. Maybe even a handle like you have.
