Wife told me to do ribs for dinner, there are 3 eating tonight, youngest son went out. Having corn as well. Decided to use the 14.5 rather than load up the 22.5. Used the rack on the top grate and laid one rack flat on the bottom grate. Did 2 hours and 2 hours wrapped, then gave them some bark on the Silver B
I personally think they could have been wrapped after 1 1/2 hours, but the wife and son said they were good.

They look really good, Jeff! I don't fire up the 22 for just three racks of ribs anymore, either. Way to conserve charcoal.

Those look excellent. We are having burgers and dogs tonight at a friend's......wish it was ribs!

Your ribs look great. I am about to pull the trigger on a 14.5. I currently have a 22.5 but it is just me and the wife for the most part now. Just wondering how many slabs do you think you get on the 14.5.

Here is what I found:

I can get two slabs cut in half lying flat. I can get 3 with 2 cut in half on a rib rack on the top grate and two halves laying flat on the lower grate. I have heard that you can put a rack on the lower grate but looking at it, I am not sure, if the ribs in the rack on the lower grate were not "high" (the original rack was long and narrow) then you could get 3 racks, but in half (that is alot of ribs) I am going to look at the distance between the grates and see if I could fit a middle grate but if a rack on the lower grate will hold 2 racks they why bother with a middle grate unless you wanted to cook them flat. I have done 14 chicken wings without crowding them and I have done a 5 pound chicken etc. I feel I could the following in one cook, a 5 pound chicken, 2 3 pound butts and 8-10 sausages, that should be enough for 2 people (LOL)

The following pictures are from my mini but it is the same size and capacity as my 14.5 (I have cranked both several times at the same time to cook more than the 14.5 can but less that I needed the 22.5 for)

Chicken - you could stuff around it and more on the lower rack
