Easy first cooks?

I just got a Weber Kettle and am hosting some guests next weekend.

Any suggestions for an easy first cook (besides burgers and hot dogs)?

(I'm not much of a cook, so any tips are appreciated!)

I recommend going to Klaus' meat market and picking up a variety of authentic German sausages. Try some fresh and some smoked. Easy to cook and will definitely please the crowd.

2nd the sausages. And don't forget stone ground mustard and sauerkraut. Also pickled hot pepper rings.

For homemade mustard (and I would recommend doing this instead of store bought--the flavour is over the top) pick one:

My go to : http://www.seriouseats.com/recipes/2011/10/sauced-spicy-beer-mustard-recipe.html

and here's a selection:

If you can't find brown mustard seeds, just do all yellow. Brown is hard to find (for me anyways).

And if you do make your own, they say to grind the seeds after soaking. You don't need to grind them till smooth; you can leave some "chunky" as they are still going to be soft. Just gives it a bit of texture.

Roadside Chicken is always a hit: http://tvwbb.com/showthread.php?33874-Roadside-Chicken

As are Carnival Kabobs: http://tvwbb.com/showthread.php?11110-Carnival-Kabobs

Tri-Tip: http://tvwbb.com/showthread.php?63975-Tri-Tip-amp-Ravioli (might not be as beginner friendly)

Meatloaf (do a search)

Chicken Pieces are easy......

Charcoal is very forgiving, you might be surprised, depending on what you're used to.

OT:

Looks like I'll be trying that mustard before long...... I just found the seeds @ amazon, hope they're good.
