It will work but with some modifications as they were designed for Kettles

I’ve used the cover from a 22.5” Kettle. I‘ve also used a local Marine Repair/Supply shop to make a custom cover using Sunbrella material. It was a bit pricey but I was able to have a different color other than Black.

Close enough.

I thought so too. It actually works. I squeezed the pre bent area a little more to get it to seat better on the bottom lip. just remember to take it off if you have to place the mid section on the ground because it hangs below the bottom edge.

They actually work well. I have one on my 22 with the CB door.

For the vent leaks I'd apply some Aluminum HVAC tape to the outside over the slots. It can removed easily if he want to use the grill for regular grilling. Nice job on the build.
