WEBR reports sales and plans with Q3 results

I'm really hoping the board doesn't accept the $6.25 buyout offer. The stock has been hovering between $6-$8 for months. Just because it dropped down to $5 for a week or two doesn't justify a $6.25 buy out. I would be much happier holding my shares for a few years until the economy and the...

    WEBR: Crisis/Opportunity?

Personally, I think they are going through a rough patch right now and the stock is getting hammered, but a company and brand like this has staying power. I'm holding out for a little while longer in order to try and pick up the stock at lower price with a better margin of safety. Maybe $5, or...

Big Change(s) at Weber - From sizzle to fizzle

I've been following several of their last couple conference calls, and they have spoken a lot about where they see future growth coming from. Emerging markets keep growing quickly - at double the rate of established markets. They are expanding into new retail channels like REI and Best Buy...

    ThermoWorks Billows

I recently got my Signals replaced because snow seeped in. The old Signals would not power the fan at all when hooked up to a generic USB-C external battery. The new one does power the fan, but only at a very slow rate (because it’s only drawing 5V). I am tempted to buy their 12V battery, but...

WSM as a stick burner ?

I tremendously enjoy grilling over wood logs in my WSM. I have a pretty unlimited supply of free maple wood in my area in New England to use as fuel. I pair the WSM with the Gabbys Grills Santa Maria attachment and cook all summer.

    Franklin Admits to the Lawry's

This is my experience as well. I have tried adding Lawrys to a dozen briskets, and cannot really taste the difference vs regular S&P. I wonder if maybe it contributes to color or bark texture, if not flavor. Anyway, for me, I’ll continue to stick with S&P, and just use Lawrys on fries.

    Ranch kettle in Napa ca

Would love one of those. 850 is still not cheap but unused ranch kettles are impossible to come by.

    Is BBQing An Expensive Hobby?

If you shop opportunistically, you can get great gear used on CL, or even new (50-75% off) around Presidents’ Day when stores close out last years inventory. To save on meat, I buy brisket and ribs by the case from my butcher and freeze them. This hobby can be moderately priced if you’re patient...

$100 - 18” WSM in MA on CL

Not mine, but saw it this morning https://worcester.craigslist.org/for/d/cherry-valley-weber-smokey-mountain/7158093441.html

    Adding third grate??

I attached some 4” bolts, washers, and wing nuts to my top grate. Now I can just drop another grate in place on top of the wing nuts and lift it right up with ease. This set up has been working well for a few years. I use 4 bolts for good stability. 4” is high enough to fit a brisket or ribs...

    Best replacement thermometer

Any thoughts on this UT300? I frequently use my WSM for grilling, so the 150-750 range seems more useful than 50-500. https://teltruhome.com/p-336-barbecue-thermometer-3-inch-aluminum-dial-ut300-2-12-inch-stem-150750-degrees-f.aspx

WSM as a stick burner ?

I found this thread today and tried both of the the methods shared by Lynn in the opening post. Harry's method of cracking the lid open with a wood chunk did not work well for me. I couldn't really get enough air flow to burn a really clean fire that way. The White Thunder BBQ method, of...

YMMV: 18" WSM for $210 at Home Depot (1/13/2019)

I was just at Home Depot in Johnston, RI picking up 48 bags of cheap Weber charcoal and I noticed they had two 18" WSM's in stock, marked down to $210. I already have enough in my collection so I didn't buy them, but if you need one, be sure to check your local HD to see if they have one on...

22" with wheels and ash catcher (i.e., combined spare middle section with an OTG) https://photos.app.goo.gl/ANR7V3cpBVFoxynr7 Not really a mod, but I had a spare WSM mid section in my garage (circa 2018) and was trying to figure out what to do with it. This morning while at Target, I saw a...

Thermoworks - Spend $75, Get $15 Back (Amex offers)

I was just checking the new offers on my American Express card and I noticed one today for Thermoworks. I know Amex offers are YMMV, but it's still worth checking your card to see if this offer is available. Here are the terms from the Amex site: DETAILS Get a one-time $15 statement credit by...

Cook brisket on hibachi type grill? (Need some out of the box ideas...)

I think this should work. I'll put the coals towards the back end, and the meat towards the front, and use my Maverick ET-732 to make sure the temp next to the brisket stays hot enough.

Cook brisket on hibachi type grill? (Need some out of the box ideas...)

Rotisserie sounds great in theory, but I couldn't find one that looks like it will attach to my grill. Has anyone tried mounting a rotisserie before? Can you recommend one? This looks like a great cover, but I need something bigger.

Cook brisket on hibachi type grill? (Need some out of the box ideas...)

We'll be on vacation next week and all we'll have is a massive 2'x5' hibachi catering grill. This thing is great for cooking hamburgers, steaks, and hot dogs, but it has no lid, so I don't know if cooking indirect or smoking will be possible. That said, I was wondering if anyone has any ideas...
