Weber Genesis 5000? This came up yesterday near me and I jumped on it. You guys have any experience replacing/rehabbing the chrome glass door clasp and hinges that are rusted?

Yeah the wire rack bottom is nice to prevent a complete rust out. Didn’t realize it had that until I saw this posted. I’m waiting for additional pictures to see. He said there was some rust on the inside bottom so we’ll see how bad it is.

I think the tank is just not hung properly on the holder. At least that was what I was assuming. Will have to confirm that the tank holder isn’t bent or something.

Just found this 3400 Platinum II... $100 w/ tank.. can’t wait to get this gem home!

Perfect, two grills it is....I have searched conversion before and remembered reading about the manifold switch. Wasn’t sure if the year/model had any impact to that. Thanks again for all your help fellas....time to delete FB app so I stop scrolling marketplace for Weber grills every 30 minutes 😂

Ended up not pulling the trigger BUT found this red head for $40 and it’s alot closer. Looks to be a late 90’s 3000?

$150 - seller said guts are in good working order. Little rust on the lower section of the frame near the bottom tray. Overpriced just to get a red head? I wouldn’t consider if it wasn’t for the platinum...I have a green platinum and am looking for a working 2nd grill so I can rehab main grill.

Happy Fathers Day. Finished the grill just in time for dinner at my pops place. Was short on time this week and it was a personal grill so I sent the cookbox and end caps to a local sandblaster for $80. Replaced burner tubes, igniter, grates and bars. Put fresh paint on the frame, bottom rack...

Just missed this...some one is picking up tomorrow. Haven’t seen the red with the stripes. Only seen the grey with red stripes.

Alright here we go! Thanks for all the feedback. This will be my first rehab. Gonna try and get it done this week before Father’s Day. Need to order parts.
