Just picked up my latest restoration project. 2000s Weber Genesis Silver B with Hunter Green Lid.

Thanks everyone, yes indeed the owners manual specifies those fasteners as (2) 1/4-20. I completely forgot about a jar of random Weber hardware that I harvested from some years ago when doing a previous restoration. I found 2 of the exact fastener I needed! Teardown begins this week.

Just picked up my latest restoration project. 2000s Weber Genesis Silver B with Hunter Green Lid.

Also needing to find a couple of these fasteners that secure the plastic end piece to the frame. They were missing when I picked it up. If anyone could help me locate these I'd be very appreciative!

Just picked up my latest restoration project. 2000s Weber Genesis Silver B with Hunter Green Lid.

Purchased from the original owners. I finally found a Hunter Green genesis worthy of a restoration. This is going to be for my uncle who has been wanting an older Genesis. Even came with the original owners manual! The frame is in decent shape but is still going to get repainted so that it...

Weber Genesis Restoration Experts... Need some input

Finished up the Genesis Restoration project over the weekend, and made final delivery to the end-user last night (my neighbor, who saw my Genesis redhead and asked me to refinish one for her). A few more progress pics... Here is the frame after paint getting ready for reassembly. I'm a big...

Weber Genesis Restoration Experts... Need some input

Hey guys, sorry for the long delay between updates, been busy with other life events the past couple of months and the project was moved to the backburner. I started working on the rehab again a couple weeks ago, and just got the final coat of paint on the frame last night. Overall it took 5...

Weber Genesis (early 2000s) restoration, which cover should I buy?

Thanks for the replies everyone, I decided to go with the Unicook 55" off Amazon. $28 + sales tax. Seems to have pretty good reviews and I like the price point compared to the weber version which goes for $80-90ish. Link: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01F8TBJKC/?tag=tvwb-20

Weber Genesis (early 2000s) restoration, which cover should I buy?

I'm seeing Zober covers for $32 on Amazon. Inflation, perhaps? $25 is probably as cheap as I'd like to go, don't want the cheapest, want something that will last at least several years.

Weber Genesis (early 2000s) restoration, which cover should I buy?

As the title states, I'm in the process of recovering an early 2000s model Genesis 3 burner and currently picking out replacement parts... Curious if anyone had suggestions for a grill cover. I'm debating to just go generic from Amazon as they seem to be roughly half the price of the Weber...

    GENESIS 5000 RESTORATION COMPLETED

Never seen the Genesis junior before, seems like a rare bird for sure! Love how it looks like a funhouse version of the Genesis 3000.

    GENESIS 5000 RESTORATION COMPLETED

Beautiful job. Nicely done. I hadn't seen many Genesis 5000 pictures but I think you just awakened something in me. This is my new white whale. My favorite feature are the glass doors on bottom, they look amazing! But seriously great job with the restoration and nice photos too. I'm in the...

Weber Genesis Restoration Experts... Need some input

I am probably only going to do one at a time. I plan on repainting and finishing the black one first. Here is my progress today on one of the frames. Sanding sure is a lot of work. Should be ready for paint soon. What kind of paint do you guys like for restorations? I believe I previously...

Weber Genesis Restoration Experts... Need some input

Here is the other one I'm disassembling today. Another early 2000s model (DT)... had it sitting in the garage for a while, and my uncle said he wanted one so going to refinish this one for him.

Weber Genesis Restoration Experts... Need some input

Thanks for the tips everyone. Realized the parts that looked like tack welds were actually just built up grease LOL. Got the basket off and getting ready to start disassembly on the second Genesis I am going to restore (blue top). Hope to get a good amount of both frames sanded down this weekend.

Weber Genesis Restoration Experts... Need some input

Really? Yeah it certainly felt stuck on and looking closely thought I could see a couple of small tack welds, but maybe just corrosion. I'll try and remove it once I get home today. That would be great if I can yank it off.

Weber Genesis Restoration Experts... Need some input

Hey guys, so I'm in the process of restoring a couple of early 2000s Genesis Silver Grills, and have 1 of 2 completely disassembled to the frame. It wasn't until I was at the end of my disassembly that I realized the metal grates/basket on the bottom are actually welded to the grill. So, in my...

Awesome, thanks! The 2 Genesis models that I'm currently restoring have the plastic handles, but I'm assuming you're talking about the wooden ones? That will be a great resource if/when I restore another unit with the wooden slats.

    Greetings from Cincinnati, OH

Hey everyone, My name is Tyler and I'm based out of Cincinnati, OH. I have developed somewhat of an obsession with early Weber genesis models (90s-2000s) when production was still in the USA. I've always been a fan of things that last and making old things new again, and the older Genesis...
