I think my thermocouple port is bad.

Don't know what changed today but it started working on its own. 🤦🏾‍♀️

I think my thermocouple port is bad.

Hello folks. After a few years of use with my HM, I think my thermocouple port has finally called it quits. I luckily had a brand new spare probe so I'm pretty sure it's the port. The temp spikes ten degrees, 4 degrees for no reason. Is there anything I can do to further diagnosis or possibly...

Looks like I overtightened my handle nut. Chipped paint :X

That's another good idea. I would think having any play in the handle area would cause chipping but maybe I'll give that option a try as well. Thanks for the input folks.

Looks like I overtightened my handle nut. Chipped paint :X

I'll pick up some of these for the new lid. Already have touch up paint on order and I'm going to use the hell out of the old lid while I still have it. What's interesting is I tightened the nut and not that the chips are exposed, the taco handle is loose. Might be a good time to play with my...

Looks like I overtightened my handle nut. Chipped paint :X

I used the tool they provided and it happened. I'd like to side on the fact that mistakes happen and I'm thankful for Weber CS. Thanks for your humble opinion. 👍

I used that tool and I still overtightened the nut I guess.

Looks like I overtightened my handle nut. Chipped paint :X

I was pretty bummed to see the red paint chipping from my kettle. Luckily, Weber is sending me a new lid. I was talking to someone on another forum and he told me that's a common problem with overtightening the lid handle and he's heard of other folks using fabric washers to relieve the tension...

Take a peek at my rain resistant box.

I used two 1 1/2 street threaded 90s and have them pointed down for probes and air intake. I'm planning on sealing any possible air gaps with clear silicone. I was a little worried the hose would cause issues with the fan but it seems 2-3 feet of hose isn't a problem. Edit: Im going to give it...

Take a peek at my rain resistant box.

My overnight/rainy day outdoor HeaterMeter setup is complete. I can finally sleep with my HM running overnight and not worry about the elements.

Probably been asked before but here it is with more data to represent my case. Best place to put probe?

I started a 6.5 LB brisket last night in my WSM 18 using my heatermeter. I've been running the HM at 225 with the probe to the outside rim of the grate close to the brisket. I'm at 12 hours and something tells me 225 is not 225. I'm going to bump up my temps to finish this brisket and call it a...

Running a HM on my 18" WSM with Hunsaker Vortex. I'm guessing I have lower barrel leaks based on the graph.

Still runs like a champ and maintains temps. An hour without assistance from the fan is an indication of a leak tho but it's fine with me. :)

The Adapt-a-Damper - Open Source Project

Here to win. I'll give away an assembled 3d printed adapt a damper if I win the aluminum one. Edit: Spelling

3d printed BBQ guru smooth adapter is not fitting snug.

Have two smooth adapters for my Weber BBQ guru adapter and one slips right off and the other one stays on just by a miracle. What are you guys using to get I tighter grip on the BBQ guru adapter?

Please edumacate me about the Hunsaker

I too am wondering how people run their WSM with this device. With or without water pan? Also, how would you add wood chunks to this? Would you get to temp and remove the vortex plate and add wood or light the coals from the bottom and let the wood burn from the heat of the lower coals?

    Best replacement thermometer

I would get a chugod 6 probe wireless. You can check the temps from indoors. :)

Any way to turn off the servo and only use fan?

I figured it out. Setting to below leave it open. :) Servo pulse duration 2000 us - 2000us, fully open at 100% Invert output

Any way to turn off the servo and only use fan?

I'm reading that running a fan only is a better option for the WSM. Apparently the damper makes the temp control harder to manage on the WSM. Read the servo config page for the HM and it's not clear if that's an option. Any help on this is greatly appreciated. :)
