A 7 pound picnic took 11 hours at a steady 240! Sorry I didn't get too many pics but by the time I let it rest for an hour and then pulled it I ate this sandwich and went to bed lol! Sucks getting old, but it's awesome barbecuing again! :-) Thanks for looking

Hey Barb! Thanks for the welcome! :-) 68 and a beautiful day to get back barbecuing! ..not really an eventful cook, my cooker is dialed in at 240 and hasn't budged since 8:30 (just the way I like it :-) ) I did mop once, that's been the highlight so far lol

Ditto.. I tapped it lightly with a heavy rubber mallet while the unit was hot and it seemed to form in place quite well, hasn't been a bother since. I also adjusted the latch so it would hold the door tighter to the unit

It can be but you will get what you pay for, and will make your money back fast on your savings on charcoal. And for high heat cooks forget about it! It has virtually 100% heat retention

I wrapped my barrel and cover in Kao-wool about 15 years ago and it's the best thing I ever did! It's a 5/8 ceramic insulation blanket from the heating industry that gives me long steady cooks on very small amounts of charcoal

That's the system right there! Then drop that whole thing inside a UDS and you should be good to go in most weather
