Brand New Damper Design - "The Micro Damper"

It's a great design, except for the connection. Not gonna risk frying my HM using a phono jack. Wish he would rethink the RJ45...

    Smartthings integration

Anyone using Heatermeter with Smartthings? There is a device type that does work HERE but you can't call on any of the temps. it would be nice to be able to have Smartthings control notification, flash lights, siren, or plugs from the HM temps.

    Ecotemp probes

Ya I knew it was a long shot. Good call on setting the oven to max then adding the probes, could finish off with water and then ice after. Good idea, thanks.

    Ecotemp probes

Closest preset for the Ecotemp probes was the Vishay 10k but still doesn't scale right, even with an offset it'll be off. Might try the SSH method, if i can figure it out. I have no idea how to get a constant temp for the range, oven will be up and down at any given set temp...

    Ecotemp probes

I ordered a few of the TX series and the ecotemp were so cheap i had to order a couple. I'll do a boil test when i get them to see. Bryan, can you link me to a how to setup probes that aren't in the presets? Yes I'll search, just trying to find the best way and im sure you'd know. Thanks

Change pit probe to use probe 1,2, or 3

Not sure if there's any kind of update need to test... As of right now I cant control my output if the thermocouple is disabled.

    PID help for furnace.

So a bit of a walk around that doesn't need PID tuning really. I used the Alarm settings, so when it hits the High threshold a new (much lower than desired) setpoint is triggered, and then when it hits the Low threshold a new (much higher than desired) setpoint it triggered. Seems to be working...

Change pit probe to use probe 1,2, or 3

Great idea to go to the next available probe. If mid cook your thermocouple craps out it can just read next available probe to keep the HM running, nice.

    PID help for furnace.

It would be direct control of the gas valve. and it would still be modulating but only 2 states on & off. Basically I want to be able to overshoot and undershoot a setpoint by around 3-5 deg before the output switchs state. The issue I see is that at the switching points the SSR switchs on and...

    PID help for furnace.

Absolutely can be, I have a thermostat that works fine. I'd like to figure out how to get as much as possible out my heatermeter is all. I'd also like to figure out how to run time based scripts for it if possible. But one step at a time.

    PID help for furnace.

I know its not BBQ related but its still a forum for the heatermeter. I'd like to use the heatermeter to run an SSR opening and closing the circuit for my garage NG furnace. No idea what to do with PID values, search didn't find anyone trying it... Anyone got a good jump off for settings to...

I found lots of 10K thermistors on ebay. I was just unsure what other specs are important i.e. B25-85 value, R @ 25deg, etc...
