    WiFi Stability

I've always had a lot of wifi connection issues with my HM. Recently, I noticed the power supply cable was frayed so I changed it out. Since then I haven't dropped wifi.

    Texas Eggfest 2018

Anyone planning on going to the 2018 Texas Eggfest? https://www.texaseggfest.com/ A few of us amateurs will be out there this year sporting a heatermeter setup! Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this. I don't venture much outside this specific sub-forum! -Michael

    Heatermeter AP Mode

I got in the new wifi adapter, loaded the latest snapshot, hooked everything up and it's good to go! I'll probably keep 2 sd's and 2 adapters for each setup, unless someone convinces me otherwise. -MK

    Heatermeter AP Mode

Worth a shot. I just ordered a RALINK 5370 based adapter. It's from MK Electronics which is also my initials, so thats pretty cool. In theory, could I potentially have both plugged in and setup and could have the best of both worlds on one build?

    Heatermeter AP Mode

I am looking for some tips and tricks for connecting to the HM directly. I use the Edimax adapter and have a "headless" HM (I built it without the screen and made a more compact case for it.) I've had my meter for quite a few years and we've had our ups and downs. My biggest problem with my HM...

    Stable Firmware Release v14

I'm using DuckDNS. I solved my problem by setting it up through my router. I like having it on the Pi so that I can potentially just forward an IP address if I go to a different house, but I have never actually done that so I think I'll be okay.

    Stable Firmware Release v14

x2 Update: Still having drop outs. Can I just get a different adapter than the edimax to solve my problems?

    Stable Firmware Release v14

Changed linkmeter to luci in the config. Now able to see luci-app-dns but can't load because of the following: Collected errors: * satisfy_dependencies_for: Cannot satisfy the following dependencies for luci-app-ddns: * ddns-scripts * * opkg_install_cmd: Cannot install package luci-app-ddns.

    Stable Firmware Release v14

I'm unable to find luci-app-ddns. When I do the Update list I get: Collected errors: * opkg_download: Failed to download http://downloads.lede-project.org/snapshots/packages/arm_arm1176jzf-s_vfp/linkmeter/Packages.gz, wget returned 8.

    Wifi Troubleshooting

I'm having trouble connecting my HM through wifi. I wired the HM to my repeater, good to go. I wired the HM to my main router, good to go. I attempted to connect the HM to my wireless repeater, no go. I attempted to connect the HM to my wireless repeater, no go. I turned off my repeater and...

    Sous Vide Setup

Great setup. Does the SSR just control the power going into the crock pot and you keep the crock pot setting on warm, low or high? I wish I could test the hot spot theory with some work equipment. I was thinking you could easily build a "lid" with various holes in it and drop various length...

The Adapt-a-Damper - Open Source Project

I just wanted to say that I really enjoy reading this thread, the data, and the ideas stemming from it. I need to brush up on my study of air flow real quick!

Latest Software: LinkMeter v13 and firmware

The reason I did this (and correct me if this is a bad idea), is that at times I've wanted to take the HM to the in-laws. To get the same external functionality I should only need to forward port 80 on their router for whatever local IP my HM ends up as. This saves me from having to set up a...

    Tuning your Servo Settings

Wbegg, I don't know much about servos, but the optimal-ist in me likes that idea. Are servo's more efficient in the center range? I took note and my center would be 1440 and range is 990. I think I must have done something to help that out during assembly :D. Bryan, Can I get into Manual...

Latest Software: LinkMeter v13 and firmware

Oddly enough. I just updated my HM and this is the FIRST time I've ever been about to download the luci-app-ddns package. Which is nice now, I don't have to setup DNS on my router, just forward the correct port. Does this new software affect setting up the HM where it will default to AP mode...

    Sous Vide Setup

This is awesome. I've been using my HM to do a "ghetto" sous vide. I put a temp probe below and above the food in a pot. I regulate the temp using the ol' calibrated hand on the dial.

    Tuning your Servo Settings

I run a buttonless, screenless, LEDless Heatermeter and I wanted to share a quick tutorial on how got my servo numbers set up correctly. This may be a easy way to do it even if you do have a screen. Note: Don't forget to save and apply when tuning your servo numbers or you won't actually be...

    Heatermeter AP mode

Does anyone has step by step instructions on how to setup the HM in AP mode? I've tried my best and haven't had any luck, and it's been getting frustrating.

    General 3D Printing Thread

Thanks, I will pass this on to him. still, for some reason the original stl file from Tom will not print right. The STL I imported to Creo prints with no issue except when it's imported the dimensions change just a bit and make some dimensions too tight for the HM.
