    Ribeyes on Slow N Sear.

I'd buy one in a heartbeat if I could solve what I think are a couple of problems. How do I– ● Cook more than three steaks at once? ● Deal with varying doneness? Now I start them at varying times and monitor with an instant read thermometer.

Is the Santa Maria Attachment Worthwhile?

Thanks for the prompt reply and the links, BF. I'm sure that I'm missing something, but I don't see that a SMG offers much in the way of benefits and I worry that we'll miss the trapped heat and smokey charcoal flavor the lid ensures. Where am I going wrong?

Is the Santa Maria Attachment Worthwhile?

I just noticed that there are Santa Maria attachments available for my 22-inch kettle. What benefits does one offer? What will we gain and lose if we grill on the Santa Maria rather than the kettle with the lid on?

    Stop StokreLog Automatic Startup

PC Matic couldn't find the start-up but AutoRuns did. Everything I tried showed that Installshield was a startup program but AutoRuns was the only one that showed that Installshield started StokerLog.

    Stop StokreLog Automatic Startup

I want to stop StokerLog V6.9RC from starting automatically on my Microsoft Surface Pro 2 running Windows 8.1. It's not in the two places where software that is to open on system startup, Task Manager and msconfig. So I'm stumped. How do I stop StokerLog from opening on Windows 8.1 system...

    Need Stoker Log Users' Manual

StockerLog V6.9RC installed without a hitch. I think I should read the owners' manual before using it for the first time. It didn't download from Rock's along with the software. Where do I obtain it?

A few photos from first dance with the KettlePizza

Please comment on the taste. Is it better than one cooked in the kitchen range? Is it like a pizza in a wood-fired oven? Have you ever had one cooked on a pellet grill? Also, what is the ideal pizza temperature? I would think 500° F would be fine.

I agree. Requiring a facebook ID for entering must be a collaboration with facebook. Perhaps you could create a bogus facebook ID and e-mail address for the contest entry.

    Cutting Down Ornamental Apple Trees

Yes. I think they're generally classified as flowering crabs. Thanks for the tip on pesticide. I wouldn't have thought of that.

    Cutting Down Ornamental Apple Trees

The city is widening a road near my home and is removing several ornamental apple trees, the kind that bloom attractively and produce olive-sized apples that drop in the Fall. Is this wood good for BBQing? I think I can score some limbs.

    A question about steak quality

Delmonico steak—I think it had its origin at the Delmonico Restaurant in New York City. I've never eaten there. I've seen delmonico steaks on other, highly regarded, restaurant menus. They turn out to be either rib eyes or New York cuts. I've alway wondered if the original delmonico steak...

    dilema

Justin W., I’d like to duplicate your meal. I see chicken breast (indirect) and shrimp (direct) on your grill. How did you cook them? Always situated as in the photo? What marinade? What rub or spice? And like that.

    A question about steak quality

John, I don't know much about grilling—I know somewhat more about beef. My father was born in Lithuania and apprenticed to a butcher at about the seventh-grade. He spent probably 60 years in the beef butchering industry and sort-of apprenticed me at about age 16. Although my education and...

What Temperature is Low, Medium or High?

Thank you to all who took the time to get me on the right track. Here's what I'll be thinking when I read low, medium or high temperature when the grill type and temperature isn't specified— Medium is 350° to 450° measured with an oven thermometer sitting on the grate. Low temperature is...

What Temperature is Low, Medium or High?

Thanks, Dave. Do you find it odd that a poster on a recipe site, who doesn't know if the reader is grilling on a charcoal grill, a gasser or a ceramic pot, posts something that vague rather than a grate temmperature?

What Temperature is Low, Medium or High?

I apologize if this question has been answered—when I searched I either had too many irrelevant hits or no hits. Many recipes I read address temperatures as low, medium or high. I would be more comfortable with more specificity. I’m assuming that they mean temperature as measured with...
