The porcelain finish is stronger than you think. Spray with oven cleaner and rinse well when done, I have used a sharp wood chissel and even a razor blade to get rid of the caked on build up ( carefully of course).

Are you using any expanded metal or a second charcoal grate on top of the factory grate to stop the smaller pieces of charcoal from falling through ??

Handles look good, I put them on mine as well, I always wondered why Weber never put them on the mid section - it is PITA to move with out them

Just use a paper towel with your tongs - you can throw out the paper towel when done

Congrats on the new addition - you might have to update the family pic. I have been checking CL every day you must be as well - I didnt see that CB performer or you were faster than me, again congrats - I have been looking for green OTG or MT myself.

If your performer is 11 - 12 years old, then it may be the stainless table top version. You will need part # 8701, these pop up on ebay once in a while or you can call weber customer service for additional help

Welcome Craig, for charcoal in Alberta try Home Depot, Home Hardware, Canadian tire or if you have one Lowes, you will not find any big sales in Canada and the price will be about the same at each store.
