I received a 3-cell Maglite for Christmas over 40 years ago and it's still working just fine. Keith's right about being vigilant about the batteries - I did have some corrode in mine but fortunately I was able to get them out.

Today I went to order some Fire Liter charcoal starters and discovered that they're now a flat shape instead of the traditional block style. I have an email into the company for more details, but those of you who use Fire Liters might want to stock up on the old ones if you can find them.

He was Officer Lowell Gazouski of the CVPD back in the '70s and '80s, but maybe he'd retired by the time you moved into the area. He passed away about 10 years ago. I recall having a couple of interactions with him back then, but fortunately they weren't related to his occupation.;)

I was living in Bolingbrook when I had the 312 number. I moved to Hillside in late '86 and might've had a 708 number, but can't remember for sure. When I started dating my now-wife in '88 she lived in LaGrange Park and was in the 708 area. In fact, I still remember her number from back then.
