That's a decent deal, and it IS a gas assist model. That is a flip-up cover is covering the gas assist controls. It is however missing the virtually worthless timer.

The add-on burner for the kettle was pretty popular in Australia. They are fairly ease to find over there, but unfortunately will set you back about $150 just to get one shipped to CONUS.

For best results, I would recommend that you use a sprayer instead of rattle cans. You don't need anything particularly fancy. Just a decent compressor and a cheap paint gun.

The bottom edge of the cook box should be uniform all the way around. I have come across a couple that were so bad, you couldn't even remove the grease tray.

Is your cook box melted or warped at all? Typical if it had a significant grease fire.
