IDK about the newer ones but in MOST cases (over 90% of what I have seen) orifices alone do NOT work properly. So I would tread carefully. Being NG now and wanting to go to LP the worst case you would have is you will never get the grill to run to as low a temp as you want. No matter what you do. It will not over temp but it will not go low. Dangerous? No. Annoying? Possibly. If you were looking to go the other way it could become dangerous. But worst that will happen in your case is you will be annoyed. Best advice is try it. You will quickly find out if it will satisfy you. If not you can search for a new manifold made for proper fuel or buy a new grill. Weber purposely makes what should be a very simple procedure very difficult. No reason really for it.
