    Warped Fire Box

Nope, I've never heard of it either. That's the great thing about Weber customer service. If something is wrong they'll usually do what they can to make it right. Hopefully you just had a defective one and all will be great with the new one.

Which would you perfer - SJP or 18.5 modified???

I've been wanting a portable charcoal grill for a while and have been going back and forth. I finally found a SJP on craigslist that I have to call on for price tomorrow but wanted to see what you guys advise. Should I go with the SJP or should I get a cheap 18.5 kettle and shorten the legs...

    Clip tool holder on Performer

Anybody ever use the top of the center support on the lid holder to hang your cooking grate? I noticed it the other day and it works great. Maybe common knowledge but hadn't heard anybody mention it before.

    Temp to High?

What are you cooking? Im guessing its butts or brisket so 250 should be fine. My guess for the high heat would starting with to much lit coal. Good luck with your cook!

    question

I agree with Dave/G. If you start with a full chimney it will be pretty difficult to get your temps back down below 500. I usually start with about 50% started. I always keep the top vent open, and use the bottom to adjust temp. Usually about 3/4 closed will give me 350-400 and I can adjust...

    Finally finished my gasser restore

Very nice find Mike. That will clean up very nicely. Let me know if there is any information I can lend to help out. I had a blast rehabbing it and love the way it turned out and cooking on it. For me it doesn't get much better than the look of the wood slats. Kinda like wood handles on the...

    Garden Suggestions

Hey everybody, I'm putting together my garden and am hoping to grow some peppers to smoke or dry and grind for spices. In the past I've done jalapenos and habaneros and am planning to add serranos this year. Any other suggestions? Thanks!

    FREE weber Gasser!!

Great find. Can't wait to see pics. If you call weber customer service they can tell you everything you need to know about the grill but based on the serial number it looks like this is what you've acquired. As a final word of advice I would suggest that if you are going to order something...

Not off to a good start this morning....

Yep, same here. The last butts I did sat in the fridge to thaw but at time to go on still frozen together. Rubbed what I could, threw on the smoker, once cooked enough to separate, added rub to previously frozen area and turned out great. Did take a bit longer than normal though.

Looking for a manual for model 470000

Yep, I agree with George. Sounds like a Genesis 3. From what I have seen the main differences between the 3 and the 3000 is that the 3000 has a different sliding mechanism for the foldout table, it has rolling casters, and it also has a hanging warmup basket. Also, as George stated, if you...

    Craigslist Performer Find

lol, yeah I know, Noe. I was almost embarrassed to put that picture up. Actually I've got two of them but I've been too busy on the interior of our house to tackle the back yard. I just finished with my latest project so the yard is next. Thats what I get for buying a fixer upper though...
