    Weber cast iron sear grate

I bought the sear grate when Craycort dropped off the earth briefly a while ago (couldn't order, no response). Plus I was intimidated by the cost and idea of cast iron - I'm a cast iron killer (well, I destroyed one pan that even a professional couldn't bring back). I used and enjoyed the sear...

Tips for grilling a steak on a gas Go Anywhere?

Thanks, Chad and George. I did both the steak and the shrimp on the gas GA and while they looked amazing and were the perfect temp, they just did not taste the same. I am glad for the experiment, but next time I'll freeze the steak I think, and wait for better weather. With that said I'm a...

Tips for grilling a steak on a gas Go Anywhere?

I went out and bought some shrimp and a steak to grill tonight without realizing it was a Spare the Air Day. Even though I'm a bit of a pirate I'm going to respect that. I have never grilled a steak on a gas grill. Any quick tips? I'm googling and also searching the forum - I'm about to step...

    Late Christmas Gift

Oooo thanks for the pics with the Craycorts in! I've been wanting to see that. My birthday is in February, guys, if anybody wants to get me the Jumbo, Craycorts and table as well! ;) Enjoy - many happy grilling adventures to you and your new Jumbo - Laura

    Large Chimney vs mini chimney

Here's my two cents after some time - It's great for my Smokey Joe Silver. It holds the perfect amount of briquettes for it. With that said, I tend to use hardwood lump these days. The little compact guy does not hold enough lump for me and I end up using my normal sized chimney starter...

Should I get a Weber Gas Go Anywhere?

Yes I'm a hardcore hardwood briquette/lump girl. I have used the WGA about 4 times. Really happy for what it is good for, which is quick cooks when I'm in a hurry and still want a grilled taste. My friend said that once I tried gas I'd switch, but that will never happen. Really glad I have...

    Glove recommendations?

Here's the pair I use - http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000TVR7JC/thevirtualweberb They are on the pricey side, but I love them, not a single complaint and they work great protecting my hands. I chose them because I knew most man gloves weren't going to fit my hands, and I don't want...

Should I get a Weber Gas Go Anywhere?

Yes, I checked out those pictures before I joined. I love it! The GA was my main grill for a very long time, and this year a friend gave me a Smokey Joe so I've been having tons of fun playing with that one too (when I'm not pulling out the 22.5 for bigger cooks and BBQ). Laura

Should I get a Weber Gas Go Anywhere?

Yes I do! That was the first grill I bought when I thought I'd try out this grilling thing a couple years ago. I love my little charcoal GA. Laura

Should I get a Weber Gas Go Anywhere?

Thanks George - I just went out and cleaned and oiled it now. I don't use it very often because I am grilling with hardwood/charcoal so much. That's good to know, I really appreciate it! Laura

Should I get a Weber Gas Go Anywhere?

Thanks, George! I'll go google how to clean the flavorizer bar/plate but if you have any tips you feel like sharing, let me know. I'm a hardwood briquette/lump kind of girl, that's where I'm saavy. Laura

Whats your go to way of lighting charcoal WITHOUT using a chimney

I have one of those electric coils that I use if it gets windy (and put the rotisserie ring attachment on my kettle so that the briquettes are in the deep part of the grill). Some people have a looftlighter, sounds fun. Laura

Not available from the Weber Store On-line....

Anybody find that with the holder more heat/smoke escapes? Makes no difference? I'd love to get it but I'm concerned it makes the lid fit not as well and will affect temps. Laura

    Compact Chimney Starter

Mine arrived today! I'm going to use it tonight to grill on my Smokey Joe. I'm excited to see how much it will hold, if it lights better/faster in a more compact space. Fun fun! And it is adorable. Laura

    Large Chimney vs mini chimney

Nice! Mine arrived today and I'm going to use it to fire up the Smokey Joe tonight. I am very excited to see how many briquettes it holds, how much hardwood lump, see if there is any difference in light time, etc. Very exciting!!! Enjoy! Laura

Top or Bottom Vent....What's The Verdict???

I adjust the bottom and figure the top is my "exhaust vent." I followed advice I got here and in my Smokenator instructions where I took a black sharpie and marked the bottom vent at just all the way open, halfway, 3/16 inch, just closed. Once in a while I may adjust the top vent, but if I can...

    Any Maverick ET-732 Pros around?

Same. It killed my thermometer before my Maverick. I put the cost towards the Maverick instead of buying a replacement probe (would have been $20). I make sure if I do use water to only use it toward the tip and not where the wire goes into the probe. I also have tons of alcohol wipes. But...

    Any Maverick ET-732 Pros around?

I love my Maverick, it makes all the difference for me between disaster and 5 star BBQing/Grilling. I haven't had any problems with it and I really work my equipment, it can't be wimpy and has to do its job. I hope you are able to get it working, it really is a great thermometer. Best to you...

    cast iron grates

I bought the Weber sear grate when Craycort fell off the radar and became unavailable for a time. While the sear grate is great I definitely prefer the Craycorts and have since bought them for my 22.5 kettle (and honestly, all my other grills, they all have Craycorts). As far as I am...
