    Another thermo mod

As a note to others, using a step drill bit will make nice clean holes without chatter or chipping. Just run a pilot hole and slowly step it up to the desired size. Then just touch it on the other side and the hole will be perfectly reamed. Even a cheapo $3 step drill will work wonders.

Best way to clean your WSM??

I never said anything about cleaning the insides, you 3 crazy old hens! Surely, keeping the cooking grates clean ain't gonna funk up anyone's Karma or Mojo, right? :p

    Pulled Pork for 100?

I get my butts from Costco (Bone Removed) or Sam's (Bone Intact) and the 2 pack generally averages around 15 lbs. I just did 4 butts on my 22 WSM for my sons graduation party and netted about 17lbs, so my yield was closer to 55%. However, I don't use water in the pan, and I normally will lose...

    Perfect Hard Boiled Eggs

I know this thread is ancient, but I'm going to sling this forward anyway. I've tried all of the 'Tips' mentioned above when making Deviled Eggs, and still ran into issues with peeling. Now, if you really want HB eggs that will always peel clean, before putting them into cold water to cook, I...

    Dual Griddle on the Q320?

Well, I guess I'm going to be the one to blaze this trail. With the 20% coupon from Bed, Bath and Beyond, I got them for $38 each. We will see how this works. I'm envisioning that once I grind off the tab and reseason that portion, they will both slide in fine. Then I'll use a infrared...

    BRITU question

I've ran into the same thing, even with foiling. I wonder if putting the bones up and the top down in the foil will cause this?

Best way to clean your WSM??

It's really not that big of a deal. I typically clean them the next day, and let them go while I'm doing something else. I wait until after a load of dishes gets done, and run them by themselves before the next load of dishes. No biggie. Now what will really blow your mind is, I also toss in...

Best way to clean your WSM??

Regarding the cooking grates for my 22, I just stick them in the dishwasher under heavy duty & santize wash. About 1/2 way through, I pull them out and by then the gunk is falling off. I take a sponge with the scruber material on one side, and just wipe everything quickly, then stick them back...

    Dual Griddle on the Q320?

Yeah, that's all what I'm trying to figure out. My old Grill to Go had a full griddle which was very helpful when trying to cook up breakfast for a bunch of people at the same time. I already have a large Texport cast iron grill but it's too big. Sticks out both ends and interfers with the lid...

    Dual Griddle on the Q320?

Dual Griddles on the Q320? In reading some past posts, I've heard a few folks mention that you can only run one griddle as there is a tab or something that prevents it's use on the right side. I'm wondering if that tab was ground off, would that allow the ability to use the griddle on the...

Wanted Ideas to use WSM in the rain

I use a 10 x 10 EZ-Up type canopy as well. With the side covers, it helps alot in the winter to minimize the wind gusts too.

I want an amazing first butt

I'll tell you what, I've been using a mixed ratio of 1/3 Piemont Sauce to 2/3 SBR for my sauce for the pull pork, and folks have gone bonkers. The recipe is here somewhere, and it adds a little heat and tang to the already pretty good SBR. While cooking, I'll spritz with striaght apple juice and...

    Wood for Butt

The entire point, and fun of cooking is to experiment. There is no right answer. Just give a couple of the more popular recommendations a try and see what you like the best.

Got tripped up as he posted this in the WSM Modifications section, hence the confusion.

trying to decide between the q120 and q320

I have the 320 and it's definitely a great grill. It's a great smaller alternative to the larger Spirits and Genesis models, if you have a smaller family, or small area. I have a Genesis and got the 320 for backup for larger parties, and for camping/tailgating. I will say that for travel, the...

    First run with Digiq DX2

I don't believe I experience the same thing. I'm pretty sure mine by default displays the actual pit temp unless you hit +/- to make a change, but then it reverts back to actual after a few seconds. Mine is only 6 months old so perhaps there was a change. I'll have to look at this closely during...

    q mods

Read again. I said that I noticed a lot of previous posts stating it was not necessary, but just like my supposed pre-seasoned Lodge stuff, I learned quickly, it helps tremendously to season ALL iron cookware and grates multiple times, even those claimed to be pre-seasoned. I did my Q320 grates...
