What do you do when there's a $1.99/lb. deal?

I had instructions for some spaghetti sauce, sloppy joes and tater tot casserole, with the leftovers from that I made three burgers! three+ quarts of sauce, a quart of sloppy joes, and the base for a nice load of tater tot casserole. Still have five pounds of ground beef left for some meatloaf...

Reccos for a lid hinge for my 22.5 WSM

I had a nice “chat” with Jason when I got mine. Straight shooter, nice chap! Considering getting one for the 22” kettle on the “Overperformer” but, I’ve had way too many things going on to fool with that right now. I got a nice deal from another member here for an Akorn hinge but, have not...

    First cook on WSM 18!

Nice work Colleen! The best thing about using a WSM is its ability to allow the user to nap, have a cocktail, read and relax! Don’t stress, I use a little different method, combining Harry Soo’s “Put the smoke wood under the coal” style and, Enrico Brandizzi “sidewinder ignition” method. I’ve...

    Stars & Stripes Kettle

Yes Chris, a prototype is often much more carefully finished since they are, obviously, pre production. The manufacturing process is designed for speed with a little more latitude with respect to color. I think it is a very cool kettle, I don’t have room for one but, I like it! There is a hot...

    Heckuva Hail Storm

Wow! We had BIG wind Thursday night, blew the banks plastic fence into the neighbors back yard. This time we were spared all but a few small branches, nothing serious. Sorry about Big Z!

Just picked up from a $10 kettle

I had one of the “Corn N’ Tater” racks, now I can’t find it! I actually wanted it the other day! I may have given it away due to lack of use! Foolish generosity!!

    Stars & Stripes Kettle

I grew up with daisy wheel bottom vents, much more fine “tuneable” than one touch system, not as easy to clean but, the science of “pointing the long leg in the wind and top vent downwind.” was brilliant and I kind of miss it with the one touch.

    Hi...from Grand Rapids, MI

Great score! It’s a great unit, you will get thirty or forty years of good use out of that! Welcome aboard!! Why do I never find things like that around me?
