    First time smoking 4lb Brisket - 225 degrees ~ 5 hours

From what I've seen, the brisket that size has taken in all the smoke it will by the 4-5 hour mark. That's about when I see it hit the stall, and the IT will be around 160-170. I usually foil it at this point to get it to the temperature I want, which can be anywhere from 180-205. This is where...

Lowes is having a sale on 2 20 pound bags of KFB for $I2.99. Does anyone think it might go down, or should I jump at it?

Thanks Jeff, this is what I plan to do. Now I have to see where I can find a SJP.

WSM Mini Mod Using 18.5 Midsection?

Did it fit pretty easily Jeff? So all I should have to do is place it in between and it's good to go?

WSM Mini Mod Using 18.5 Midsection?

They should be about the same correct? The midsection should fit in between the top and bottom of a Jumbo Joe?

    First time smoking 4lb Brisket - 225 degrees ~ 5 hours

Was the brisket done enough after just 5 hours? Usually that size of brisket should take 7.5-10 hours.

WSM Mini Mod Using 18.5 Midsection?

Maybe this has been answered already, but would it be possible to use the 18.5 midsection to make a WSM mini starting with the Smokey Joe?

    18.5" or 22.5" WSM

Beau, actually the new ones should have a rubber grommet in the midsection to put your probes through. If you are buying locally, maybe check to see if they have the new model. Weber stated most stores should have them.

I could see them not wanting to have you add it to yours, as I have heard it voids the warranty. I was told that the ones with the grommets are being sent out for any new warranty replacements, which is a nice upgrade.

    18.5" or 22.5" WSM

Since I do not have mine, I can not say for sure. But I was prompted to buy it because of the reviews stating that people were getting 12+ hours on a single minion method load on a slightly windy day, with maybe even some left over.

    18.5" or 22.5" WSM

Hey Beau, I actually just went through this same issue. I ended up choosing the 18.5, which will be delivered this week. For what you want to smoke, those should fit fine on the 18.5. I have read from others who say they only need the 22.5 if they are cooking for decent sized groups, 10+. I...

I wonder what that means for those of us who just ordered. I want to get my hands on the new one! I also just called Weber, and they stated that if I receive a model without the grommet, they will send me one with the grommet since that should be the current model. A++ customer service right...

I'm in the same boat, as I just ordered mine. I would think they would be open to switching it out, as they can use the body they sent us as replacements for others in the future. I emailed them and mentioned that it was posted before I purchased mine, so I would hope they would be helpful!

I'm wondering if they will switch it out for me if I do not receive one with the new additions. I might give it a try, since these are dated prior to my ordering of their product.
