    Thermapen Arrived

love my thermapen as well. Thinking about getting a thermapop as a backup and to use when I cook at work since they are on sale right now. Hmmmm, now what color should I get.....

    Where to get a gasser?

As for the genesis, its hard to say. No more pics to show the grates or flavor bar condition. I know you are excited to get a grill but I think you can still find a better deal if you keep looking As far as the Jenn-Air, I would say no but then I am now a weber snob like a lot of us on here Be...

    Weber performer on CL.....

Ya, that's a good deal. Even if the igniter is broken, they are usually easy to fix and you can get a new one for under 25 so it still makes it worth it . I would be all over that

1st-Baby Back Ribs on WSM (Pic-Heavy)

Stephen, good looking ribs there! You didn't say what temps you kept the smoker at, but I do my BB's at around 275 and find that even an hour an a half is too much most of the time. Now I shoot for about an hour at that temp.

    Found a Genesis silver P what's a decent price?

Ya, I would say a $100 is a good price as well. It looks really clean. You can always offer them 75 and see what they say. You never know. Let us know what happens

    Learned my Craigslist lesson.

Well, that's true Tony. For some reason people post on CL then don't respond. I found a performer on there one time and for 2 weeks I tried to contact the guy with no response. The ad never came down so I assumed he still had it. Who knows? CL can be strange sometimes

    WSM 18.5 cart

That came out really nice with some nice workmanship there. Wish I could figure out how to use Google sketchup that well

    Learned my Craigslist lesson.

You definitely have to jump on them. I guess a lot of people know what a deal is. Before I got the gasser a few weeks ago, there was a blue kettle on CL. I have always wanted a blue. I really don't need it since I have a performer in black, so I hesitated and it was gone. They don't make blue...

Where do you light your chimney?

I have a Smokey Joe silver that I use sometimes to set the chimney on and sometimes I use this table that I got from Walmart http://www.walmart.com/ip/Camp-Table/20463044 This table works out good for setting hot stuff on one side and my food, etc on the other.

    Your BEST butt BARK?

The rub definitely has a lot to do with the bark and the final color of the butt when finished. I use turbinado sugar (raw sugar) and brown sugar in my rub. Plain white sugar will tend to burn more although with the sugars I use I still get a dark/black color. I like it like that My guess would...

Stained my side table yesterday and hit the OTG with some meat today

I like it!. The table and the burgers Coming from someone who can hardly cut a straight line in a piece of wood, it came out nice

    CL shopping advice needed please

That seems like a decent price for a OTG. As far as quoting a price for a used one that is difficult since you will find many different years, models, accessories and conditions on grills on CL. If you look around and check new prices and check all over at used ads, you will get a feel for...

    How to control temperature spikes?

Just a couple of thoughts. If you are using a thermometer on the top grate, it might be reading lower if it is close to the meat. When you pull the meat to wrap more air circulates and the temp spikes. Like Tony said, it shouldn't be a problem since the ribs are wrapped when you put them back...

found my grandson an '04 black OTP

Way to go Bob. You have got your grandson into something he will use for a lifetime. He is probably already out-cooking half of us on here. Nice find on the OTP

    CL shopping advice needed please

I have to agree with those who say get a performer. You have the best of both worlds. You get the flavor of charcoal with the easy light of gas. Plus the table and lid holder and charcoal holder you get with the Performer are an added bonus. If you have patience you will find a good deal on...

Question about painting a kettle handle

I would use high heat paint just to be safe, but Home Depot should carry it. They carry grill paint and some high heat engine paint as well if you want red

    Weber Gourmet BQ System

I have the gourmet system as well. The sear grate is, well, great and I find it easy to care for. I use the griddle a lot for sides like skillet potatoes and vegetables

    A E-310 craigslist find

There is another one here in Jacksonville almost identical for $350, that's why I figured this was a good deal. Keep looking Tony, they'll pop up. Like Chad said in another thread, its almost huntin' season on em

    On order. E-330

I just picked up a 09 Genesis E-310 about the same time one of our young rookies got a new charbroil from his wife for Valentines day. I wanted to tell him all about weber but I didn't want to sound snobby. Congrats on the E330 Bailey and welcome to the site. You will love it here!

    new grill gates

Hmmm, just got a 5 year old genesis and pulled the grates off to clean them. I didn't really pay attention to the grate so I will have to look at them when I put them back on . Good timing on this thread, thanks
