    Winter Smoking survey

I'll have cookers out just about every week regardless of what the temps are. When my birthday rolls around, it's usually the coldest week of the year (one year was -27F) and I like ribs or brisket for my birthday so I'll be cooking for sure. This year i think I'll take a pic of my ThermaPen...

What kind of music do u prefer while bbq?? *****

I put together a mix CD called the "Wyocena Yacht Club Eclectic BBQ mix #3". I can listen to it all day. It has some Joan Jett, Katrina and the Waves, Ace Frehley, Casting Crowns, Dexie's Midnight Runners, Glenn Miller, Mercy Me, Van Halen, Metalica, Down Here, Pat Benatar, Paul Simon, Barlow...

    WSM Accessories. . .

I just dump the bowl, so no need for the shovel. A half gallon plastic juice bottle cut in half works well on my kettles. If you invert the center section before putting the Weber cover on, you will get no water accumulation inside the WSM.

    How do I cut ribs?

That's it! Not a "Hollywood" cut, it's a "Cadillac" cut!

    How do I cut ribs?

I cut my ribs between the bones too. There is a cut (I've heard it) called the Hollywood. Instead of cutting down the middle between bones, you cut right alongside the bone to the left and right of one bone, gives you twice as much meat per bone, but half as many bones. Did that description make...

Very nice post Dwain. Would love to go to the Jack some day. As a competitor or spectator, wouldn't matter.

A Wyocena Yacht Club first! *****

It's a cool and windy Autumn day here in South Central Wisconsin, and I decided I wanted to clean the shed and tidy up & organize before Old Man Winter rears his ugly head. In order to do that, I had to get the Webers out, right? And since they were out, I may as well get group shots just to...

18 inch WSM lid rim rusting

The lids get porcelain applied after the rim is rolled, so sometimes the inside of the roll doesn't get coated. I have one I have experimented with a fix on. Wire brushed the inside of the roll as best as I could and then filled the roll with a rust converter. I let the sit on a level surface...

Raise your tongs if you're ready for some winter grilling!

I built my new pit patio just so I had a decent place to cook in the winter. I love getting up at 5:30 on a winter Saturday morning, good strong coffee and a cigar, firing up a chimney to dump into the WSM... There is something special about the smell of hickory smoke at -20F.

    Nice green weber I found.

Nice job Mike! I have no room for another kettle, but I would have dropped that coin on a MasterTouch in a heartbeat!

My son had a date for homecoming, and he asked me to cook

I know! He's quirky that way. Thanks for all of the kind words. He's a good kid and I'm so proud that he was comfortable enough to invite her to the house.

My son had a date for homecoming, and he asked me to cook

(I posted this over at the Brethren, thought y'all might want to have a look) He decided he wanted me to cook for his first date. Left me a note that morning telling me what he was thinking (so I wouldn't forget). I went shopping after work and here's the menu with pics!. (I printed the menu...
